Whether you’re brewing potions under soft moonlight or helping a nervous adventurer find just the right elixir, the heart of Moonlit Alchemy lies in simple, satisfying gameplay and a warm, whimsical atmosphere.

Development Notes

Moonlit Alchemy is a solo development project, where I'm focusing on building my technical art, shaders, and cozy game design skills. All characters will be animated 2D pixel art within a 3D pixel art textured environment, creating a whimsical atmosphere. The game will feature:

  • Bioluminescent shader for glowing flora that responds to player proximity.
  • Custom lighting system with soft moonbeams and volumetric fog.
  • Interactive potion brewing mechanics using dynamic material changes.

Follow the journey through devlogs, starting with a full recap of everything built so far! From technical challenges to cozy shader experiments, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes progress as Moonlit Alchemy continues to grow.

Recent progress includes a spline-based camera system for cinematic 2.5D movement, a custom day/night cycle, and a brewing mechanic that’s steadily coming to life—one potion at a time.
